GRAMMY 'Best Christian Album' Award for Chris Tomlin

Les Ellison

On a GRAMMY night remembered for emotional tributes to the sad passing of soul singer Witney Houston and the Brit music sweep of 6 top awards by recently returned Adele, Christian singer/songwriter Chris Tomlin’s album ‘And If Our God Is For Us’ took the top GRAMMY for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.

Together with prestigious 'Best Contemporary Christian Music Album', Chris Tomlin acheived nominations in the 'Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance' and 'Best Contemporary Christian Song' categories. Nominated song ‘I Lift My Hands’ from his ‘And If Our God Is For Us’ album acknowledged not only Chris Tomlin’s fine musicianship but also the skills of fellow wordsmiths and musicians Louie Giglio and Matt Maher.

Three Times Male Vocalist & Artist of the Year

Taking the top award with this his fifth GRAMMY nomination, Chris Tomlin has already found critical acclaim carrying away 20 of 42 Dove nominations in his influential Christian music career. Dove Male Vocalist of the year from 2006 for three consecutive years, Chris Tomlin was named Artist of the Year for in 2007, the year he released worldwide worship favourite ‘Indescribable’.

A much loved live performer and worship leader, Chris Tomlin’s music and presence impacts powerfully on the musical quality and spiritual depth of contemporary Christian music. Equally appreciated in shared worship and as private devotional listening, Chris Tomin’s words and music reach the hearts of individuals and shape the spirit of arena scale events.

Renowned Artist and International Worship Leader

Albums starting with ‘Authentic’ in 1998, through ‘Arriving’, ‘Hello Love’ and now GRAMMY winner ‘And If Our God Is For Us’, Chris Tomlin’s recorded and live music is a source of lyrics and melody that almost inevitably breakthrough into the prayer and praise of church congregations around the world.

Since 2008, Chris Tomlin has found a role for himself and his expressive music with inspirational speaker and pastor, Louie Giglio, as an integral part of the Passion Movement. Based in Passion Church, Atlanta, Georgia, Chris Tomlin with Matt Redman (co-writer with Chris of ‘Our God’, ‘The Wonderful Cross’, ‘Wonderful Maker’) and Louie Giglio (co-author of ‘Indescribable’ also with Chris) spearhead Passion Movement's conferences, worship events and teaching tours.

How Great is Our God – The Essential Chris Tomlin

Following ‘And If Our God Is For Us’, his 2011 album ‘How Great is Our God’ is Chris Tomlin’s first retrospective on his music and faith-based journey. With an estimated 40 million singing Chris’s songs the world over, ‘How Great Is Our God’ includes title track favourite 'How Great Is Our God’, ‘Indescribable’ and ‘The Wonderful Cross’ to share and sing or simply listen and enjoy.

‘How Great Is Our God’ is the essential collection of songs from probably the Church’s most-sung songwriter worldwide now properly acknowledged for his influence and inspiration to worship leaders and their music.
